Fashions for Beloved Dolls Come to Elizabethtown Public Library

Nov 1st, 2012 | By | Category: Front Page, News

Elizabethtown Public Library invites you and your little girl to buy the perfect dress for her favorite doll. American Girl Dolls and their corresponding books, featuring characters like Felicity and Molly, have been shaping girls’ lives for decades. Elizabethtown Public Library welcomes for the third year the works of Deb Kramer, a professional maker of dolls’ clothing. She specializes in clothes for American Girl dolls and similar 18’’ dolls. Some of the clothes will also fit Bitty Baby and similar dolls. These clothes are available for purchase at the Friends of Elizabethtown Public Library Bookstore in the Library until Christmas.

Kramer first learned her craft with Barbie Dolls before moving on to larger subjects. She is a member of the Central Penn Doll Collectors Club, which meets monthly in Hershey. Her high-quality American Girl outfits are all custom-made in the USA.  Many of the clothes correspond to the culture or historical era of the American Girl series, including Civil War era, contemporary clothing, Hawaiian and Mexican styles. If ordered early enough, custom orders are also welcome. Visit the Friends of Elizabethtown Public Library Bookstore for more information.

Kramer’s American Girl clothes are on sale in the Friends of Elizabethtown Public Library Bookstore from the beginning of November until Christmas. The price range for these doll clothes is in the range of about $14.95 to $24.95. They will fit any American Girl and most 18’’ dolls, and a percentage of sales will benefit Elizabethtown Public Library. American Girl books and magazines are also available in the Library. Kramer is one of many artisans and crafts brought to Elizabethtown Public Library each month.

In addition to the doll clothes, the Friends of Elizabethtown Public Library Bookstore also has a selection of jewelry made by Elaine Bleiler, “The Angel Pin Lady.” These items will be available through the month of November. A portion of the proceeds benefits Elizabethtown Public Library as well as adults with developmental disorders. Any purchase in the bookstore will be gift wrapped free of charge upon request.

Elizabethtown Public Library is located at 10 S. Market Street (near the square) in Elizabethtown. For more information, please visit the Library’s website at www.etownpubliclibrary.org or contact the Library via phone: (717) 367-7467 or email: information@etownpubliclibrary.org.
