Reading on the Square Highlights Books and Businesses in Downtown Elizabethtown

Jul 25th, 2012 | By | Category: Front Page, News

Elizabethtown Public Library and Pages Bookstore on the Square present highlights and results from the Reading on the Square series of 2012.

Reading on the Square, a series of three outdoor program days, brought together businesses and the community providing free books, prizes, and a good bit of fun for people of all ages in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania’s Center Square. Each Saturday of Reading on the Square (May 19, June 16, and July 21) free books were given away at Pages Bookstore and Elizabethtown Public Library. People found books to meet their very specific interests or general needs.

Book and date related topics were the subject of small challenges to be done on each corner of the Etown Square. Over eighty participants found answers or did a small activity to fulfill each challenge, then returned their Reading on the Square card for a chance at prizes provided by Elizabethtown Area businesses.

Businesses participated in a variety of ways. Many created one dollar specials just for Reading on the Square. Natural Creations Salon provided a financial gift in support of Reading on the Square. Other businesses gave gift certificates that were used as prizes. The prize donors and winners are as follows:
