Pianist performs Gretna Music recital in honor of late professor

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – In his illustrious career, Robert McDonald has shared the stage with Isaac Stern, Midori and other renowned performers. At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, he will present a piano recital in Elizabethtown College’s Leffler Chapel and Performance Center in memory of a former E-town music professor.

The late Nancy Hatz, who taught for 15 years at Elizabethtown College, was instrumental in the pianist’s early career; she died in January at the age of 100. In her obituary it was shared that her life had been “immersed in music.”

McDonald, a graduate of Curtis Institute and on the faculties of Curtis School of Music and The Julliard School, honors her in with song.
