Let Etown Ring–New Year’s Eve Downtown Celebration

Let Etown Ring is Elizabethtown’s public New Year’s Eve celebration.  This year it will be organized differently than in the past.  The celebration begins at 7:00 p.m. on New Year’s eve and continues through midnight, later than previous years. The core location will be at the GEARS Community Center and will feature indoor activities, as well as, an outdoor heated tent.  This is the first year that Market Street Improving Business! is organizing the event. Elizabethtown Journal Statistics December 10

During the past month, there have been 8,913 visits to the Elizabethtown Journal web site.  This tally is calculated using a method that eliminates all spam and spider from the count and, therefore, is a more accurate representation of “real” visits than a gross visit count.  During that time, there have been 13,836 page views resulting in an average 1.55 page views per visit.  Also during that period, there have been a significant number of attempted comment spammers and attempted intruders.  Our best estimate for the number of these non-substantive visits is that they constitute approximately five percent of all[Read more...]

GEARS Recreational Basketball League             GEARS is accepting teams for the Winter 2014 Recreational Basketball League.  All games will be played at the Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church Gym (996 East High Street, Elizabethtown).  League play is on Sunday, & Tuesday evenings, January 7-March 25.  League is a 10-game schedule with divisional playoffs and championships. This league is for individuals 16 years and older.  Deadline is Friday, December 27.
