February 19, 2015- Elizabethtown Area School District band students Kyra Buettner, Nicole Faiola and Stacie Savoca recently took part in the prestigious 2015 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 7 Band Festival held at Conestoga Valley High School in January. Dr. Emily Threinen, professor of music at Temple University conducted the ensemble of about 130 talented high school musicians.

Selection to the District 7 band is highly competitive involving talented student musicians from schools located in central Pennsylvania (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties). A team of judges, comprised of local music teachers, selected the students to the prestigious ensemble.

At the district festival, Buettner (French horn), Faiola (flute) and Savoca (clarinet) auditioned for a part on the Region V band, which is scheduled to perform later this spring.
