GEARS Summer Youth Program

             This Summer, your child can have fun with other kids right in your own neighborhood park or elementary school.  Trained program leaders will lead supervised, quality recreation activities. Kids will learn social and physical skills through recreation activities. But it’s more than fun and games. This program promotes good citizenship among children, and the fun activities keep kids active and entertained.

Summer Playground offers a wide variety of recreational activities to children. Playground Leaders will create safe, supervised and fun-filled environments with activities including sports, games, arts & crafts and nature activities.

Playground will run Monday-Thursday, June 16-July 31 from 9 am-12 noon at the Elizabethtown Community Park, Mill Road Elementary School and Rheems Elementary School.  Playground is for ages 6-14.  Fee for the program is $45 for GEARS members and $52 for non-members.

ATTENTION PRE-SCHOOLERS!!  Do your older brothers and sisters have all the fun at Summer Playground?  The Tot Playground is for you!  Children ages 3-5 are invited to their own playground which will feature sports, arts & crafts and games geared to their age level at the Rheems Elementary School.  Program is on Thursdays, June 19-July 31 from 1-3 pm.  Fee is $30 for GEARS members and $37 for non-members.

 Lifeguard Certification Course

             Interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard? Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you’ll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. Digital certificate available upon successful completion of course. Ages 15+   Class will meet Saturdays & Sundays, June 7, 8, 14 & 15 from 9 am-6 pm at the Masonic Conference Center Pool (One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown). A spectacular visual feast, this adaptation of Disney’s much-loved film transports you to a dazzling world that explodes with florious colors, stunning effects and enchanting music.  Star-Spangled Celebration

Baltimore Inner Harbor

An international parade of ships will be in Baltimore for the Star-Spangled spectacular, the bicentennial of the Star-Spangled Banner and the National Anthem. Some 20 ships, including U.S. Navy, British and Canadian “grey hulls” and tall ships from around the globe are expected for the festivities. The event will feature public tours, land-based activities, fireworks and an air show featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Ships will be staged in Baltimore’s famed Inner Harbor and surrounding areas. There will be bus staging, performance spaces and group-friendly dining options.
