Eggstravaganza

 Come out and join the Easter Bunny for a free egg hunt for kids ages 12 and under on Saturday, April 12 at the Elizabethtown Park! Other activities include soccer kick, inflatable slide, arts and crafts, obstacle course, face painting, concession and more!   The activities will start at 10 am. Egg Hunts will be: 10:15 am (ages 2 & under), 10:30 am (ages 3-6), 10:45 am (ages 7-9) and 11 am (ages 10-12). There will be an adult egg hunt at 12 pm.  Spin & Sculpt

             Want to burn 400-600 calories, improve your cardiovascular fitness, increase muscle tone and have fun exercising without impacting your joints? Try this 45 minute indoor cycling class combined with 15 minutes of toning/core. Participants will climb hills, hit jumps and ride through valleys! You will be addicted to this major calorie burning class in no time! Don’t forget your workout towel and water! All fitness levels are welcome. Ages 16+. Class is on Tuesdays & Thursdays, April 15-May 29 from 6-7 pm in the GEARS Recreation Room #4 (600 East High Street, Elizabethtown).  Fee is $75 for GEARS members $82 (non-members).

            Roller Skating Night

 All ages are invited to come out for a fun night of skating/blading on Wednesday, April 9 from 6-8 pm at Doc’s Roller Review  (1733 East Harrisburg Pike, Middletown).  Fee is $5 ($2 additional for skate rental if needed).  Registration is accepted at the door.  Canine Classes

             Canine Fast Track Basic Obedience is geared toward the canine team (dog/owner) for learning basic obedience (sit down, hold, stay, walking on a leash, coming when called, etc.), problem solving (barking, house training, play biting, etc.) and tricks!  Focus will be on basic commands with positive reinforcement.  Class is on Tuesdays, April 1-22  from 7-8 pm. 

             Advanced Canine Fast Track will concentrate on skills learned in the beginner class and work on advancing toward your Canine Good Citizen (CGC) as recognized by the AKC.  The CGC test will be offered to teams that are ready.  The class will work on distractions of every day life and problem solving.  Class is on Tuesdays, April 1-22 from 8-9 pm.  

            The instructor, Deb Haldeman, has 18 years of training experience in obedience, confirmation and therapy.  Materials needed for both class are a six-foot leash (fabric or leather), dog treats, proof of vaccinations.  Recommend that dog receives Kennel Cough Vaccine.  Handlers must be 16 years and older.  Fee is $50 for GEARS members and $57 for non-members.  All classes will take place at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds, (900 East High Street, Elizabethtown).  To register or for more information, go online at GetinotGEARS.org or call GEARS at 367-0355.

 New York City – Salute America

             Arrive at Battery Park to meet your guide and board the ferry to Ellis Island. You will have time to tour Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Afterwards you will depart to the 9/11 Memorial. Trip includes transportation, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty Monument Pass and Ferry. Trip date is Saturday, July 12.  The bus will depart from the Elizabethtown High School Parking Lot (600 East High Street, Elizabethtown) at 6 am.  The cost is $109 per person ($116 non-member).  To register or for a detailed itinerary, go online at www.GetintoGEARS.org or call 367-0355.
