The Best Laid Plans (a short narrative poem)Oct 20th, 2013 | By Mike Schwartz | Category: Essays, Front Page
Three days out I made the non-perishable hors d’oeuvres. They perished.
Two days out I cleaned the house. It got dirty
The day before, I prepared the main course. It burnt in the oven.
So we went somewhere else and did something else.
…..You don’t always get what you planned.
…..You can’t always get what you want.
I want some brown sugar.
.….It’s not going to happen.
I did something else.
