May 21, 2013- East High Street Elementary School recently celebrated the writings of its second graders by holding its annual Young Authors Tea. As part of the festivities, parents and family members of the students were invited to the school to listen to their child read his or her self-illustrated autobiography, as well as a collection of other short stories written throughout the year.

At the Tea, the students grabbed a quiet spot with their family and proudly shared their writing samples. Afterwards, the students and adults had time for snacks and refreshments. The event was a way to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work and determination that the students put forth in developing their writing skills.

Jennifer Gerber, Amy Ginder, Melissa Elliot, Carolyn Lehman, Andrea Styer, and Sharon Vizzachero, second grade teachers at the school, coordinated the Young Authors Tea.
