Brett Etter from Elizabethtown Completes Air Force Training

Airman First Class Brett A. Etter, a native of Elizabethtown and a 2008 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School graduated from Air Force Basic Military Training in April of 2012. The training consisted of an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, basic warfare principles and skills.
During basic training at Lackland Air Force base in Texas, Etter was awarded the position of Squad Leader, and received the Expert Marksmanship ribbon and the Thunderbolt certificate.
Etter then attended and graduated from a 40-day technical school, Contracting Technical School, in May of 2012. The training included fourteen college credits plus a degree in Contracts Management. Air Force contracting specialists have strict standards and practices they must follow before awarding any contract. Etter proved himself to be a master negotiator with an exacting attention to detail.
Prior to his Air Force enrollment, Etter graduated from HACC with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He enlisted in the Air Force in January 2012.
After a twenty-two day visit at home with family and his fiancé, Airman First Class Etter will be assigned to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina to serve his Contracting special assignment beginning in June 2012.
