Zumba

 Zumba is a dance fitness class that fuses motivational musical rhythms and unique moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be FUN and EASY TO DO! The routines feature interval training where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning calories. Add some Latin flavor and International zest into the mix and you’ve got Zumba! Ditch the workout, join the party! Ages 14+.  Parent & Child Aquatics

             GEARS Recreation offers Parent & Child Aquatics class for children ages 6 months – 4 years.  A parent or guardian must participate in the pool with their child.  This American Red Cross class is designed to help young children feel comfortable in and around the water.

Class is offered on Saturdays, June 2-July 7, from 10:30-11 am (6-24 months) (Class A) and from 11-11:30 am (2-4 years) (Class B).  Both classes will be held at the Masonic Patton Pool (One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown).  Fee for the class is $60 GEARS members ($67 non-members).

 Learn To Swim Classes

             GEARS offers Learn To Swim classes for ages 4 and older.  This program provides opportunities for achievement and allows smooth transition between levels of instruction.  Activities offered at every level stimulate interest and motivate participants to advance to the next level of instruction.  Session I classes will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, June 4-15. Level I is from 7:15-7:45 pm, Level II from from 7:45-8:15 pm and Level III/IV from 8:15-9 pm. Session II classes are on Saturdays, June 2-July 7 with Preschool (ages 4-5) from 8:15-8:45 am. Level I is from 8:45-9:15 am, Level II from 9:15-9:45 am and Level III/IV from 9:45-10:30 am.  GEARS Sets Summer Sports Camps

          Soccer Camp will provide the fundamentals of soccer while providing every camper with a positive and enjoyable experience. Kevin Laicha, Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach will be instructing. Campers need to bring a water bottle, cleats and shinguards. Ages 9-14. Camp is Tuesday-Thursday, June 19-21 from 6-8 pm at the Elizabethtown Area Soccer Field #2.  Fee is $40 for GEARS members and $47 for non-members.

Attention future Lady Bears Basketball Players! Girls Basketball Camp is under the direction of Janelle Garber, Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, and players. This camp will focus on the fundamentals of the game. Coaches will stress the basics of dribbling, shooting, passing, etc. Come ready to learn and improve. Wear sneakers and comfortable clothes. Camp t-shirt included in fee. For girls entering grades 3-8.  Camp is on Monday-Friday, June 25-29 from 9 am-12 noon at the Elizabethtown Area High School Daubert Gym.  Fee is $65 for GEARS members and $72 for non-members.

Curious about the game?  Intro to Golf Camp will introduce and begin the learning process for youth who are interested in the game of golf.  By the end of the course, participants will have a basic knowledge of the game and will be able to play a round of golf with a parent or guardian.  Camp will be instructed by Frank Bianco, Director of Instruction at Highlands of Donegal. Highlands will provide clubs, if needed. Ages 6-12. Camp is Monday-Friday, June 25-29 from 4-5 pm at Highlands of Donegal Golf Course.  Fee is $120 for GEARS members and $127 for non-resident.

The Field Hockey Camp will focus focus on the fundamentals that are critical to the game and success of players. Come ready to learn and have fun. Camp is under the direction of Mandi Shearer, Temple University field hockey player. T-shirt is included in fee. For girls entering grades 3-6.  Camp is Monday-Friday, July 9-13 from 9-11 am at the Elizabethtown Junior High Field Hockey Field.  Fee is $55 for GEARS members and $62 for non-members.

Track & Field Camp under the direction of EAHS Track & Field Varsity Coach, Jeff, Harnish, will instruct the forms and techniques of sprint and endurance running, softball throw, broad and long jump, shot, discus and team building activities. The last day will be an actual track and field meet. Grades 3-6. Camp is Monday-Friday, July 16-20 from 9-11:30 am at the Elizabethtown Area High School Track.  Fee is $55 for GEARS members and $62 for non-members.

Are you ready for some football? Flag Football Camp will teach the fundamentals of the sport. Focus will be put on football basics, positional drills, sportsmanship and conditioning. Camp will be instructed by Mustangs players, local semi-pro football team. Come ready to learn and have fun! Ages 5-12. Camp is Monday-Friday, July 23-27 from 6-8 pm at the Fairview Elementary Field #2.  Fee is $30 for GEARS members and $37 for non-members.

Join our Roller Hockey Camp to work on the basics of the game. Skills like skating, shooting, passing and stick work will be the focus. Further your skills and have fun trying a new sport! Charlie Yoder, former coach of Team USA Roller Hockey, along with pro players will instruct. Sticks provided if needed. Helmets recommended. Camp is Tuesday-Thursday, July 24-26 from 6-8 pm at the Poplar Street Hockey Rink.  Fee is $20 for GEARS members and $25 for non-members.

Tennis Camp will provide professional instruction combined with a positive environment that puts fun first. Lessons will be taught on serving, volleying, ground strokes and other key aspects of the game. A camp tournament will be held at the end of the week with prizes and awards. If you want to improve your game and have a ton of fun, this camp is for you! Camp will be taught by Shawn Newlin, PTR certified instructor, former #1 singles player at PSU Harrisburg and staff. Ages 6-14. Camp is Monday-Friday, August 13-17 from 6-8 pm at the Elizabethtown Area High School Tennis Courts.  Fee is $70 for GEARS members and $77 for non-members.

 GEARS Baseball Trips

             Join GEARS as we celebrate America’s Favorite Past-Time.  Yankees Baseball – Join us for trip to Yankee Stadium to see the Los Angeles Angels take on the New York Yankees. Trip is on Sunday, July 15 with a 7 am departure time.  Fee is $99 per member ($105 non-member).  Phillies Baseball – Join us at Citizens Park as the Atlanta Braves take on the Philadelphia Phillies. Trip is on Saturday, September 22. Time is tba. Fee is $89 for member ($95 non-member).
