Kismet & Company Publishing and the Allen Theatre/MJ’s Coffeehouse will be hosting a book launch for George R. Appelt Jr.’s debut novel, Shepherd’s Fall, just in time for the summer beach-and-poolside-reading season. The event will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 2-5pm at the Allen Theatre/MJ’s Coffee House, 36 E. Main St. Rt. 422 (Exit 85A, I-81), Annville, Pennsylvania 17003.  The book will be available for purchase at the event and the author will be signing and reading from the novel.  The novel is currently available in E-book formats and paperback through Amazon.comBarnesandNoble.com and Smashwords, and through local bookstores. Shepherd’s Fall tells the story of Will Shepherd, an ambitious IT professional who accepts his dream job and relocates his reluctant family to an old Victorian mansion in the country. At first he thinks he has it all, but he soon learns that his new home is poisoned with a terrible history of violence and bloodshed. Now, plagued by bizarre hallucinations and under attack by entities bent on revenge and death, Will races to save his sanity, his loved ones, and his soul before his family becomes another chapter in the cursed land’s history of pain and misery. This paranormal suspense tale takes place just north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in the fictitious town of Templeton. Local readers will recognize landmarks like Chickies Rock and the Susquehanna River, and, for the history lover, the story features references to Gettysburg and the Susquehannock Indians who once inhabited Central Pennsylvania.
