April 19, 2012— What do you get when you cross a crooked acting teacher, a psychic consultant to the stars, an aging Cajun cook, a flea circus, and a whole host of zany characters? You get Hooray for Hollywood, the spring play being presented at the Elizabethtown Area Middle School on May 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. This terrifically funny show takes place in Hollywood, CA, where the hand that feeds also bites. Young movie and television hopefuls come from all over the country to study at “Milo Bravo’s Workshop of Dramatic Art — And Stuff,” lured by Milo’s phony scholarships. He teaches such “vital” subjects as “How to Wear Sunglasses Properly” and “How To Avoid The Pitfall Of Talent.”
The production is under the direction of EAMS teacher, Kevin L. Biddle. Also assisting with the production are Ogier Norris and Cindy Telenko. EAHS students Kat Allison and Abby Stump are the student directors.
Heading the cast of the EAMS production in the role of Milo Bravo is eighth grader Brian Soutner. Other leading roles are played by Nicole Faiola, Jack Gillespie, Janae Hoffman, Aley Johnson, Elaine McClaine-Rowe, Lukas Schaffer, Katy Shenk, Kyra Yoder. Rounding out the cast are Alanna Bachman, Ashylyn Bevel, Lauren Clouser, Adriana Collman, Lauren Davidson, Jordan Gainer, Shelby Hall, Natalia Krawczak, Erin Mickievicz, Alex Mora, Katie Neece, Jessica Nolan, Aparna Paul, Megan Polites, Sydney Pollock, Maddie Rivera, Stacie Savoca, Leah Stern, and Abbi Wesner.
