May 17, 2011— Fairview Elementary School will be closing its doors for the final time at the end of this school year. The Elizabethtown Area School District would like to invite students, faculty, parents, alumni, friends and the community at large to join in a special celebration of the school’s life and legacy as a public school in the Elizabethtown Area School District. The closing ceremony will be held at Fairview on Wednesday, June 1 (rain date – June 6) from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The farewell will begin with a walk around and through the school at 5:15 p.m. as a prelude to the official program. At 5:30 p.m., the official program will begin with welcoming remarks. The celebration will also include student performances, tours of the school, a symbolic flag raising and lowering, photos from past, and a reception in the school cafeteria.
The Celebrating 55 Years of Fairview Elementary School event is open to the public. District and school administration encourage all to spread the word about this special celebration to past Fairview students, faculty, staff, and administration
