Power Yoga             Power Yoga focuses on strength, balance and flexibility while linking mind and body through breath. Sun salutations, standing and seated postures, balance poses & intense relaxation combined in one class that allows the beginner or advanced yoga student to enjoy an invigorating and fulfilling experience. Elizabethtown in The News, the section of EJ’s front page that provides links to other news sources, has lain dormant for some time.  Historically, the major source of linked stories was LNPs Elizabethtown site. When that site went dark, we ceased updating Elizabethtown in The News. Recently The Elizabethtown Advocate, our local print paper, has established an internet site that includes articles from the paper.  We will now provide links to these stories via the Elizabethtown in The News section of EJ. EAMS Angel Tree Program Supports Local Families

December 22, 2017- The holiday season will be a little merrier for several families of students at Elizabethtown Area Middle School thanks to the school’s faculty, staff, and administration. The staff provided 22 of its students with gifts this year as part of the school’s annual Angel Tree campaign. Coordinated by English language arts teacher Paula Kennedy, school counselor Diana Chandra, school counselor Greg Bechtold, and counseling secretary Carolyn Dohner, the purchasing of the gifts came from the generosity of the school community. Elizabethtown Area High School team competes in Brain Busters Competition

December 22, 2017- Elizabethtown Area High School’s Brain Busters team recently competed against Lower Dauphin High School in the first round of the WGAL-Wellspan Brain Busters competition. Tune in to WGAL on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 12:30 p.m. to find out whether the team from Elizabethtown was victorious. Team members included seniors Kai-Uwe Konrad, Erin Kraskewicz, and Nathaniel McCloud as well as Alexander Caylor and Ryan Minnich. Zach Mussmon and Tim Spiegel, social studies teachers at the high school, are the team’s faculty advisors. East High Street Elementary Giving Tree gifts holiday joy to 53 families

December 22, 2017- The East High Street Elementary School Giving Tree and Winter Food Drive recently brought holiday joy to families less fortunate in the community. Through the generosity of the school’s faculty, support staff, administration, and PTO, over 53 families received holiday help in the form of presents and food boxes. Through the initiative, a “giving tree” filled with tags listing specific items was set up in the school lobby meant to inspire the staff to buy gifts for eligible students. Giving Tree Program Supports Local Families

December 22, 2017- To help brighten the holidays for families in need, the Bear Creek School recently held its annual Holiday Giving Tree program. As part of this annual tradition, the school’s faculty, staff and students as well as community members purchased suggested gifts for families who could use the help this season of giving. From the Giving Tree initiative, over 100 students received gifts to help make their holiday season brighter. Conewago Rod and Gun Club offers Basic Pistol Course

The Conewago Rod and Gun Club will conduct a Basic Pistol Course on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the organization’s clubhouse, 1483 Turnpike Road Elizabethtown. The Basic Pistol Course is designed for individuals who have limited or no experience with a handgun. The eight-hour course will teach beginning shooters the fundamental skills needed to own and use a handgun safely and responsibly. It will include instruction in the classroom and on the pistol range. The course will be conducted by NRA-certified pistol instructors.  Minors are welcome when accompanied by parent or guardian.
