  2017 Lady Bear Football Classic             The annual Elizabethtown Lady Bear Football Classic is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 10 at the Elizabethtown High School Jane Hoover Field. At 6 pm a contest between the Sophomore and Freshman classes will kick the night off. The Senior and Junior classes will clash at 7:30 pm.  Spectators are encouraged to attend and support this traditional powder puff competition between the classes.  A $3 admission fee will be charged to defray the cost of the games.   Medicare Madness Intro to Medicare.  If you are about to turn age 65[Read more...]

EASD Inducts Three Into its Athletic Hall of Fame

October 24, 2017- At a special ceremony, Elizabethtown Area High School inducted two former student-athletes and one coach into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 20. Enshrined were Jenna Ahern (Class of 2006), Janelle Garber (Class of 2006), and retired long-time teacher and wrestling coach Mike Sernoffsky. The ceremony was held in front of more than 75 family, friends, and school district representatives. Ahern was an outstanding athlete in field hockey and softball.   October 18, 2017- Elizabethtown Area High School will present its Fall Play – The Skin of Our Teeth – on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.  The Pulitzer Prize winner for drama by Thornton Wilder centers on the Antrobus family of the fictional town of Excelsior, New Jersey. October 18, 2017- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Kayla Grudi and Logan Hoover were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of month for September. Grudi and Hoover were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school, and community service activities. Grudi is the daughter of Walter and Kelly Grudi of Elizabethtown. She is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. Grudi has held leadership roles in several school programs including co-president for the Class of 2018 and secretary for the Key Club.   She’s also involved with the school’s theater program having served as a student choreographer[Read more...]

Elizabethtown Area School District To Honor Local Veterans

  October 17, 2017- The Elizabethtown Area School District will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, Nov. 10, the day before the actual holiday, to honor our community’s military veterans. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in front on Elizabethtown Area High School (600 East High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022).   8th Annual Fall Festival             GEARS will be holding its 8th Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 28th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Elizabethtown Fair Grounds.  The event is sponsored by J.T. Herres Dental Solutions and Albright & Thiry Orthodontic, and the Elizabethtown Rotary Club. BEARS Youth Basketball Sign-up              GEARS will be accepting registration for girls and boys in grades 1-9 for the BEARS Youth Basketball Program.  Players will participate in practices and games from late-November through the end of January.  Participation levels are grades 1 & 2 (instructional), grades 3 & 4, grades 5 & 6 and grades 7-9. Draft day for boys in grades 3-4 is Monday, November 6 from 6-7 pm. Draft day for boys in grades 5-6 is Monday, November 6 from 7:15-8:15 pm.
