8th Annual Fall Festival             GEARS will be holding its 8th Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 28th from 10am to 2pm at the Elizabethtown Fair Grounds.  The event is sponsored by J.T. Herres Dental Solutions and Albright & Thiry Orthodontic, and the Elizabethtown Rotary Club. The Fall Festival offers a variety of activities for all ages.  We will once again have the very popular Hay Ride and Barrel Train along with some yearly favorites pumpkin golf, pumpkin painting and the inflatable rides.  Other attractions will include the Activity Fun Fair which is in conjunction with Elizabethtown College’s program “Into[Read more...]

  Area seniors are invited to participate in any of the following programs held at the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center.  The Senior Center is located in the GEARS Community Center, Elizabethtown and is open Monday through Friday.  Call the center for more information about the activities or to make reservations at 367-7984.   The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center is a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging. EAHS September students of the month named

September 19, 2017- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Erin Kraskewicz and David Buckwalter were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of month for September. Kraskewicz and Buckwalter were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school, and community service activities. Kraskewicz is the daughter of John and Christin of Elizabethtown. She is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. Kraskewicz has held leadership roles in numerous school programs including vice president and committee chair for Student Council, secretary for Model UN, vice president of Key Club, and publicist for the Class of 2018.  She’s also involved[Read more...]

BEARS Youth Basketball Sign-up GEARS will be accepting registration for girls and boys in grades 1-9 for the BEARS Youth Basketball Program. Players will participate in practices and games from late-November through the end of January. Participation levels are grades 1 & 2 (instructional), grades 3 & 4, grades 5 & 6 and grades 7-9. Draft day for boys in grades 3-4 is Monday, November 6 from 6-7 pm. Draft day for boys in grades 5-6 is Monday, November 6 from 7:15-8:15 pm. Athletic Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony Set For October 20

September 13, 2017- Elizabethtown Area High School will induct 2 former student-athletes and one coach into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 20 at a special ceremony. To be enshrined that day will be Jenna Ahern (Class of 2006) and Janelle Garber (Class of 2006), as well as retired long-time teacher and wrestling coach Mike Sernoffsky. The day will begin with a luncheon and induction ceremony at 12 p.m. in the Susquehanna Room on the campus of Elizabethtown College. American Red Cross Learn To Swim Classes             This program provides opportunities for achievement and allows smooth transition between levels of instruction for ages 4 and older.  Activities offered at every level stimulate interest and motivate participants to advance to the next level of instruction.  Classes are on Saturdays, Sept 23-Nov 18 (excluding 10/21). Preschool (ages 4-5) is from 9:10-9:40 am (A) and 9:45-10:15 am (B). Level I is from 10:20-10:50 am (C), Level II from 10:55-11:25 am (D). Borough police obtain arrest warrant

On  November 30, 2015 the Elizabethtown Police Department received a report of theft from a motor vehicle in which the victim reported her wallet containing various credit cards had been removed from her vehicle. As a result of the investigation, it was learned that the suspect attempted to use one of the stolen credit cards at several businesses in Elizabethtown.  Some of those businesses had surveillance video.  The police investigation spent months obtaining search warrants and court orders to further identify the suspect.  The suspect was eventually identified as Andrew Illingsworth, 23 of Lancaster, PA.  Additionally, the investigation revealed that[Read more...]
