EAMS ready to take to the stage for hilarious trip through history

April 27, 2016- Elizabethtown Area Middle School will present its annual spring play – ALMOST HISTORY: that whole space-time continuum thing – on Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m. Both performances will be held in the middle school auditorium. EAHS Students inducted Into National Technical Honor Society

April 26, 2016- Twenty-nine students from Elizabethtown Area High School were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). Local chapters of the NTHS celebrate career and technology center students for academic achievement and a commitment to learning. The NTHS’s mission is to recognize student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, and enhance career opportunities for career and technical students. Hope Within awarded grant for health care services

CVS Health Foundation has announced that Elizabethtown’s Hope Within Ministries has been awarded a $30,000 grant to support their Hope for Capacity Building program.  The program is designed to increase access to primary care services and low-cost mental health counseling for low-income and medically uninsured residents of Dauphin and Lancaster counties and the surrounding areas . Hope Within Ministries is one of 46 community health centers and free clinics selected nationwide to receive funding this year as part of the CVS Health Foundation’s multi-year 5 million dollar commitment to address the need for more accessible, coordinated health care in local[Read more...]

Lifeguard Recertification Course              Individuals with a current lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification take this class. Recertification is for 2 years. EASD Salutes Retiring Staff and Honors Award-Winning Faculty

April 22, 2016- Elizabethtown Area School District recently held its 2016 Staff Recognition and Retirement Banquet. In total, three faculty members were honored with EASD awards while three retiring faculty members and one retiring administrator were saluted for their dedication and service to the district. The retirees were Lois Brewer, Ray O’Boyle, Mike Sernoffsky, and Marianne Switaj. Combined they have over 128 years of service to the district. Brewer has been principal of Mill Road Elementary since 2011 and was instrumental in the school being recognized nationally as a Blue Ribbon School. Elizabethtown, PA – The 13th Annual Arts in the Park celebration will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Community Park in the heart of Elizabethtown. April 20, 2016- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Katie Gizzi and Christopher Bair were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of month for April. Gizzi and Bair were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities. Gizzi is the daughter of Zane and Melissa Gizzi of Elizabethtown. She is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. Gizzi holds numerous leadership positions at the high school including Key Club secretary and class treasurer.
