EAHS February students of the month named

February 12, 2016- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Sarah Sellers and Santino Buonamici were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of month for February. Sellers and Buonamici were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities. Sellers is the daughter of Lewis and Gayle Sellers of Elizabethtown. She is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. She is involved in numerous school activities including peer tutoring, concert choir, and Symphonium.  In the community, she is active with Job’s Daughters and Demolay International. Elizabethtown Area Middle School holds spelling bee

February 10, 2016- Elizabethtown Area Middle School recently held its 2016 spelling bee. The winner of the Bee was eighth grader Sydney Gunter. The runner up was eighth grader Ethan Lown and the third place finisher was seventh grader Logan Harris. All three finalists are eligible to compete in the Lancaster Newspapers Regional Spelling Bee. Gunter took home the victory by correctly spelling the word Udon. Water Aerobics Water Aerobics combines aerobic conditioning and resistance training, with the added benefit of being gentle on the joints. Participants will develop cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength while enjoying motivating music and having fun in the pool. Ages 14+. Class is on Mondays & Wednesdays, March 7-April 13, from 7:15-8 pm at the Masonic Village Patton Pool (One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown). Fee is $45 for one day per week and $80 for 2 days per week for GEARS members ($52/$87 for non-members). EAHS Announces Second Marking Period Honor Roll

February 9, 2016- Elizabethtown Area High School principal Dan Serfass, assistant principal Robert Crick, and assistant principal Dr. Lyn Shaffer have announced the honor roll for the second marking period of the 2015-2016 school year. In total, 420 students made the honor roll, which required a 94% average grade or better across all subject areas for marking period. Bainbridge Elementary holds “Souper Bowl”

February 9, 2016- In only ten days, Bainbridge Elementary School students, faculty, and staff collected 290 canned food items and boxed goods for the local food bank as part of the school’s annual Souper Bowl. The food drive is timed to coincide each year with National Football League’s Super Bowl and helps to restock the shelves of the local food pantry after the holiday season. In what has become as much a part of the tradition as the food drive itself, students could place their donation on a pile for their favorite Super Bowl team.
