In her lecture, “The Schwenkfelder Hymnal of 1762 and Its Unique Place in German Hymnody” she outlines its history and analyzes the origins of its hymn texts. Christine Nelson-Tuttle, associate professor of nursing at St. John Fisher College, discusses “Assessing Vaccination Receptivity in the Old Order Amish in Cattaraugus County, N.Y.” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23. IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR TUESDAY TRASH COLLECTION– As a result of the weekend storm, trash and recycling collection on Tuesday will be collected Friday this week. Tuesday is the only day that will see a change—Wednesday and Thursday collections will occur on schedule. Next week we should be back to the regular Tuesday through Thursday schedule. In response to the winter weather forecast, Elizabethtown Borough has declared a snow emergency effective 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 22nd. The Elizabethtown Police Department issued the following press release: The Elizabethtown Police Department received a complaint regarding unlawful contact between an adult male and a juvenile female. Through investigation, police learned that David Ringer, 29, of Elizabethtown, Pa, had met the 13 year old juvenile victim online in 2014. The investigation determined that Ringer communicated with the victim online and by cellular telephone. Ringer met with the juvenile victim on numerous occasions, where he had sexual contact with the juvenile victim. Sarracino to Discuss Book “Point Blank,” the debut novel by Carmine Sarracino, professor of English at Elizabethtown College, is set in a Civil War hospital amid drug trafficking, espionage and murder. He will discuss the book at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the College’s Bowers Writers House. Heartsaver Lifeguard American Heart Association course that is video guided, instructor led that teaches critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until EMS arrives. Students will learn how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones shock and other emergencies. 2 year certification card. Ages 11 +.
