Messick’s 2015 Christmas light show

Messick Farm Equipment is excited to announce the start of their 2015 Christmas Light Show. This is the third year that Messicks’ will be hosting a drive through Christmas Light Show at their Elizabethtown store. The animated light show is open to the public and features over 70,000 colorful lights covering the stores, light poles, and dozens of Kubota tractors, that dance to choreographed holiday music for a visually thrilling experience. GEARS Recreational Basketball League             GEARS is accepting teams for the Winter 2016 Recreational Basketball League.  All games will be played at the Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church Gym (996 East High Street, Elizabethtown).  League play is on Sunday, & Tuesday evenings, January 12-March 15.  League is a 10-game schedule with divisional playoffs and championships. League fee is $325 per team. Church of the Brethren Alternative Gift Fair supports local services

Successor named to Amish expert, Donald Kraybill

Nolt, widely recognized for his scholarship on the history, life and culture of the Amish and Mennonite communities, has been appointed Senior Scholar at the Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies at Elizabethtown (Pennsylvania) College. The professor and prolific author succeeds Plain Sect researcher Dr. Donald B. Eastern Wildwater Team selection to be held at Falmouth, December 5th and 6th

USA Canoe and Kayak will host it’s Eastern Wildwater Team Selection on the Susquehanna River at Falmouth on December 5th and 6th.  The event will select half of the USA Canoe and Kayak team to compete at the World Championships in Banja Luka, Bosnia in June 2016, as well as at 2016 World Cup events in Celje, Slovenia, and Pau, France.  Competitors will travel from as far away as Georgia and Vermont to compete for places on the US Team, and will test their skill in their lightweight, fragile and unstable racing craft against the rapids below the York Haven[Read more...]
