Petapalooza will be held on June 14

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – Every summer, Best Friends Furever, Inc. (BFF) hosts the Petapalooza Pet Adoption Festival to find forever homes for several of the homeless pets in the Central PA community. BFF partners with dozens of local rescue groups, shelters, and vendors every year to adopt out as many animals as possible. May 30, 2014- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Corinna Brendel and Robert Corbin were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of month for June. Corinna and Robert were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities. Corinna is the daughter of Kelsey Bassanini of Elizabethtown. She is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society where during her senior year she was a National Honor Society Scholarship nominee. May 30, 2014— Elizabethtown Area High School held its annual senior awards banquet for the Class of 2014 on Wednesday, May 28 at Elizabethtown Area High School. At the ceremony, 74 members of the senior class were honored with 76 scholarships and awards totaling over $92,500. Area seniors are invited to participate in any of the following programs held at the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center.  The Senior Center is located in the GEARS Community Center, Elizabethtown and is open Monday through Friday.  Call the center for more information about the activities or to make reservations at 367-7984.  The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center is a service of GEARS and The Lancaster County Office of Aging. Elizabethtown Area School District salutes retiring teachers, staff

May 28, 2014- At a special ceremony held May 27, the Elizabethtown Area School District recognized and saluted seventeen employees for their service and dedication to the district. These individuals retired during the 2013-2014 school year. Combined, they have over 370 years of service to the district. The honorees were as follows: Kay Baxter has spent thirty of her 36 years in education as a mathematics teacher with the EASD. EAHS’s Heather Secord wins Most Courageous Athlete Honor

May 21, 2014- Elizabethtown Area High School senior Heather Secord has been named the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame 2014 Courageous Athlete Award Winner. The courageous athlete award given to a young athlete who has not allowed an injury or disability keep him or her from enjoying sports and reaching their goal.
