 Water Exercise Classes Deep Water Workout –A deep water exercise class to challenge the whole body. This class will improve muscle tone, core strength and cardio fitness. Participants will use water exercise equipment to enhance the workout. Participants should feel comfortable in the deep water while wearing a floatation belt. Ron Stetler will instruct the class. William and Elaine Hileman of Masonic Village are pleased to announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Elizabeth Ruth Essinger-Hileman, to Seth Michael Morton, of Poland, Maine. The future bride is the daughter of Douglas—son of Bill and Elaine—and Sandra Essinger-Hileman of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. She is a 2004 graduate of Albert Gallatin (Fairchance, PA) High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of New Haven, where she earned a bachelorʼs degree in Chemistry and Forensic Science. E-town’s walking and bike pathway

From Chronicling Elizabethtown Walkers, cyclists and runners soon will be able to traverse Elizabethtown, from the east side to the west, on a pathway that the borough is constructing. A pedestrian and bike path that has been part of the borough’s downtown master plan approved in 2005. The plan, a map of which you can see here, is to have a path that stretches from the train station all the way to the Elizabethtown Area School District property. Elizabethtown Students Honored For ‘Doing The Right Thing’

February 22, 2012- Elizabethown Area School District students James Bellino and Kayden Rhyder were recently recognized as the February Do the Right Thing award-winners. The Do The Right Thing program recognizes students in the Elizabethtown community who have distinguished themselves through their accomplishments, attitude, or outstanding efforts. The program provides a way to recognize good deeds and reinforce exemplary behavior. Hornafius Insurance was the program’s sponsor for February. Bellino, a twelfth grader, received his award for helping to restart and teach a cooking class at Cornerstone Community Ministries. February 21, 2013- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Maura Fertich and Gavin Horning were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of month for February. Fertich and Horning were honored by the service club for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities. Fertich is the daughter of Scot and Nance Fertich of Elizabethtown. She is a National Merit Scholarship finalist and a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. New York Philharmonic violist Peter Kenote offers a guest performance, joining the Elizabethtown College Trio as they perform the Schumann Quartet during a Monday Series concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in the Leffler Chapel and Performance Center. Also highlighted during the chamber recital hosted by the College’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts, Music Division, are two works by Brahms, the B Major Trio and the E Flat Major Viola Sonata. Marian Wright Edelman to speak at Elizabethtown College

Founder and president of the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF), Marian Wright Edelman, will be the keynote speaker at the 2013 Leffler Memorial Lecture at Elizabethtown College. Edelman’s lecture—slated for 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 20—will focus on the importance of defending and addressing the needs of children and how the defense of children in the United States relates to issues of diversity and inclusion. National Signing Day at Elizabethtown Area High School

February 13, 2013- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Rhiannon Arellano, Olivia Esbenshade, Tess Hayward, Tiffany Heisey, Courtney Koser, Kiersten Olsen, and Erin Sollenberger recently put pen to the paper when they signed National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the college of their choice.
