Panel discussion focuses on repercussion of conflict in Syria

Elizabethtown Area Middle School students collect over 1,300 food items for local food bank

November 14, 2012— Elizabethtown Area Middle School students collected 1,358 canned food items for the Elizabethtown Food Bank during a recent food drive. The total items collected was more than three times the amount collected the previous year. “The generosity and sense of caring of our students never ceases to amaze me,” said Linda Ahern, middle school counselor and food drive coordinator. “All of our students should be proud of themselves for giving back to the community and its families in need in such a strong and caring way. From Chronicling Elizabethtown This morning, a Twitter follower tipped me off that MoviE-Town is on the market for $2.2 million. For the local community, that’s news in and of itself. And my immediate thought was, “Hopefully the new owner will pave the parking lot” because the large lot on the north side of the building is rife with potholes. Elizabethtown Area School District Honors Local Veterans

November 12, 2012— Elizabethtown Area School District saluted twenty-five local veterans during its fifth annual Veterans Day Honoring Ceremony. The celebration afforded district students and staff a chance to thank local veterans for their service and sacrifice to the country. It also promoted civic involvement and the appreciation of the liberties Americans have as a result of the many community members who have contributed to our country through their service in the armed forces. Elizabethtown Area School District rededicates East High Street Elementary

November 9, 2012- On Sunday, Nov.4, Elizabethtown Area School District rededicated East High Street Elementary School to commemorate the completion of its building expansion and renovation project. Construction on the 11,925-square-foot addition to the existing building began in November 2010. Renovation work to the original building, which first opened in 1964, began in June 2011. After completion of the project, the school grew from 47,955-square-feet to 59,880-square-feet.
