 Tennis Camp           Tennis Camp will provide professional instruction combined with a positive environment that puts fun first. Lessons will be taught on serving, volleying, ground strokes and other key aspects of the game. A camp tournament will be held at the end of the week with prizes and awards. If you want to improve your game and have a ton of fun, this camp is for you! Camp will be taught by Shawn Newlin, PTR certified instructor, former #1 singles player at PSU Harrisburg and staff. Dan Robrish: The Elizabethtown Advocate

Lately in Elizabethtown there have been frequent sightings of a stocky man walking purposively down the street, seemingly lost in thought, and wearing a coat and tie and a distinctive black fedora. If you have ventured out recently, you too may have made this sighting. That man is Dan Robrish. He is the publisher, editor, and primary writer of Elizabethtown’s only print newspaper, the Elizabethtown Advocate. The Elizabethtown Advocate started publication about two years ago and filled the void left by the departure of Elizabethtown Chronicle. Area seniors are invited to participate in any of the following programs held at the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center.  The Senior Center is located in the GEARS Community Center, Elizabethtown and is open Monday through Friday.  Call the center for more information about the activities or to make reservations at 367-7984.  The Elizabethtown Senior Center is a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging. After the traffic signs at the intersection of High and Market Streets were reconfigured several months ago, drivers could make left turns more confidently. Elizabethtown Public Library and Pages Bookstore on the Square present highlights and results from the Reading on the Square series of 2012. Reading on the Square, a series of three outdoor program days, brought together businesses and the community providing free books, prizes, and a good bit of fun for people of all ages in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania’s Center Square. Principal Named at Elizabethtown Area High School

  July 20, 2012— The Elizabethtown Area School District Board of Education unanimously approved Timothy Re as the principal at Elizabethtown Area High School.  FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE GEARS is accepting registration for its Flag Football League until Wednesday, August 10.  Seven-person coed flag football league.  Non-contact throw, catch and flag pull league with an 8-game schedule and playoffs.  Minimum 1 female participating in the game.  League play will be Sundays, August 19 through early November from 1-5 pm.  Team entry is $500 per team. GEARS Upcoming Sports Camps  Are you ready for some football? Flag Football Camp will teach the fundamentals of the sport. Focus will be put on football basics, positional drills, sportsmanship and conditioning. Camp will be instructed by Mustangs players, local semi-pro football team. Come ready to learn and have fun! Ages 5-12. Camp is Monday-Friday, July 23-27 from 6-8 pm at the Fairview Elementary Field #2.  Fee is $30 for GEARS members and $37 for non-members.
