Elizabethtown Area Schools Schedules Town Hall Meeting

October 7, 2010— Elizabethtown Area School District will hold its first Town Hall Meeting of the school year on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at Bainbridge Elementary School. The Town Hall meeting is for all Elizabethtown Area residents who would like the opportunity to speak with district administration about any school-related topic. Pennsylvania No. 1 in Casino Tax Revenues?

Hard to believe, but it is true! In 2009, Pennsylvania collected $929 million in casino taxes, more than did Nevada (#3) or Indiana (#2). The ascent of PA to the top of the charts is even more striking when you consider that it was in 2006, a mere four years ago, that the first casino opened in the state (Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs). How about the home of Atlantic City? New Jersey’s tax revenue was less than 40% of Pennsylvania’s, at $348 million.
