EAMS Students Explore Career Interests at Career Fair

October 27, 2010— Elizabethtown Area Middle School recently held its annual Pathways Career Fair for eighth grade students. The fair was designed to assist the students with selecting one of the four career pathways offered at the high school. Roughly 300 eighth graders had the opportunity to circulate around the cafeteria to speak with over 35 local business leaders and ask them about their profession. EAHS Orchestra to Perform Pops Concert

Then come out to the Elizabethtown Area High School Orchestra Pops Concert on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. The 74-member Elizabethtown Area High School Orchestra will perform a variety of entertaining selections including a few numbers featuring our very own Middle School Allegro Ensemble. Elizabethtown Area High School To Honor Local Veterans

When: 10:45 a.m., Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Elizabethtown Area High School, 600 East High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 What: Elizabethtown Area High School will honor local veterans for their service to the country. Special invitees to be honored include parents of secondary students (grades-6-12) and representatives of the local Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion, as well as residents of the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown. Borough Council wants your thoughts in this tough budget year

As Borough Council begins the budgeting season for 2011, we are facing an extreme situation the likes that many of us have never seen. In fact, my fellow Councilman Meade Bierly said earlier this month that he had never seen in his 40 years on Borough Council a budget as tough as last the one we approved for 2010.

It looks as though this year we might face an even tougher year.

Revenue predictions for next year from the Lancaster County Tax Collection Bureau are way down — and this year the bureau advised municipalities countywide not to expect much from the collection of the earned income tax.

EAHS Students Recognized Nationally In Prestigious Academic Competition

Elizabethtown College Grad gains national notoriety for granola company

From Elizabethtown College News and Events Site Four months after graduating from Elizabethtown College, Sarah Lanphier’s granola company got its first big break: a spot on The Rachael Ray Show. On Sept. 28, 2009, Nuts About Granola was the “Snack of the Day” on the nationally-televised program. Recently, the company had another big break. The E-town grad was contacted by Off The Wall, a company in charge of gift bags at the Emmy Awards. The Elizabethtown Area High School marching band will hold its 2010 “Bands in Review” concert on Thursday, Nov. 11 in the high school auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public. EAHS Presents Courtroom Drama – Twelve Angry Jurors

October 7, 2010— Elizabethtown Area High School will present the courtroom drama, Twelve Angry Jurors, on Thursday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The show is based on the Henry Fonda movie classic, Twelve Angry Men. Though written during the McCarthy era in United States history, the director of the production – Kevin L. EASD communication efforts recognized by PA School Boards Association

October 7, 2010— The Elizabethtown Area School District received three awards in the 41st Annual Educational Publications Contest sponsored by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association’s (PSBA). The district newsletter (Bear Tracks), annual report, and website each received the second honor, an award of honorable mention. PSBA received 45 entries statewide in the newsletter category with only 12 schools receiving honors. Elizabethtown Area was joined by Ephrata and Manheim Central as the only other schools in Lancaster County to be honored in this category.
