Area seniors are invited to participate in any of the following programs held at the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center.  The Senior Center is located in the GEARS Community Center, Elizabethtown and is open Monday through Friday.  Call the center for more information about the activities or to make reservations at 367-7984. Middle School Lacrosse Club GEARS will offer a Middle School Lacrosse Club for boys in grades 7 & 8 and girls grades 5-8.  This program will teach the basics of lacrosse through practices and games.  The season will start March 12 and go through early May on Monday-Friday with practices and games on Elizabethtown Area High School Field.  Parent meeting is Monday, January 22 at 6:30 pm (girls meeting) and 7:15 pm (boys meeting) in the Elizabethtown Area High School LGI Room. Coed Sixes Volleyball League             GEARS is accepting teams for its Winter 2018 Coed Sixes Volleyball League scheduled to begin Monday, February 12 and conclude in mid April. Teams interested in playing in this league should submit a team roster and registration fee no later than Friday, February 2 to be included in the league schedule.  Games will be on Mondays, between 6:30-9:30 pm at the Daubert Gym, GEARS Community Center Gym and Elizabethtown Area Middle School Gym.  The league is a 10-match season with playoffs.  Minimum 6/maximum 15 player roster.  Teams must have 2 females on the court at[Read more...]

The plane was fully fueled in a hanger at Andrews Air Force Base when it taxied onto the runway in Camp Springs, Maryland.  On an adjacent runway was the plane designated as Air Force One.   Field Scheduling Meeting GEARS is holding the 2018 Elizabethtown Area Field Scheduling Meeting on Wednesday, February 7 at 7:00 pm at the GEARS Recreation Room #2 (beside the GEARS Office at the lower level of the Elizabethtown Area Middle School, 600 East High Street, Elizabethtown).  This is a mandatory meeting for leagues, associations and groups interested in utilizing Elizabethtown Borough, West Donegal Township, Mount Joy Township and/or Elizabethtown Area School District athletic fields/facilities.  Organizations should have a representative attend to review regulations, facility stipulations and to discuss facility requests.  Make certain to bring specific dates, times and field requests[Read more...]

Power Yoga             Power Yoga focuses on strength, balance and flexibility while linking mind and body through breath. Sun salutations, standing and seated postures, balance poses & intense relaxation combined in one class that allows the beginner or advanced yoga student to enjoy an invigorating and fulfilling experience.
